“This will be our home,” Vivian Silver said when she arrived many years ago at Kibbutz Be’eri. “Here we will stay, forever.” She expressed her meaning through moving speeches and in conversations with people from different backgrounds.
From this home she rose day after day and worked to build the vision she believed in with all her heart: equality and justice for all human beings.

With love, sincere words, and deap admiration, Avirama Golan tells the story of the talented and determined girl from Canada who moved to Israel and became the symbol of the struggle for coexistence and peace between Arabs and Jews. Daphna Awadish-Golan’s illustrations reveal a whole world of beauty and hope.

Vivian’s life was cut short in October 2023, but her dream of peace,
and the goodness she inspired with optimism and joy, remain with us.
